Lisa Ström is an
artist, illustrator, designer, crafter and daydreamer. She grew up in sunny
California, and completed her higher education in the chilly nether regions of
Western Michigan and Southern Ontario. After a few years back in California, she
has now settled in the Emerald City. She spends her days painting, illustrating,
photoshopping, drawing and enjoying a life of creativity.
Lisa is
inspired by Mexican and Asian folk art, vintage paper and fabric, nature, the
art of Gustav Klimt, Maurice Sendak, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Shel
Silverstein, Mary Blair, and life in general.
Some of her recent Swanx designs are Hep Cat, 1000 Cranes and Lanterns.

Ginger Katz
Art Director

As the daughter of a freelance artist, Ginger
was very interested in drawing and painting at an early age. During her
school age years she began painting murals around her hometown of
Appleton, WI. After high school Ginger moved to Georgia where she
attended and graduated from The Savannah College of Art and Design with
a B.F.A. in illustration. As she focused on children's works, bright,
cheery, and whimsical designs had become staples of her portfolio.

Gene Sorensen
Gene Sorensen is a native Washingtonian. He has been
painting since he was 8 years old. He graduated from
Central
Washington
University with a degree in Fine Art.
He came to The Swanx earlier this year.
"I enjoy painting and this position allows me to use
my creative skills in a fun environment." In addition to painting our clogs, Gene paints acrylic on canvas. His paintings are in the
Tacoma
Art
Museum and the
Museum of
Glass.
Besides his Artist Signature Series shoe
Paris, Gene
paints the Ladybugs series and many of our Custom
Orders.

Lisa Muyllaert
Lisa Muyllaert graduated from
Cornish
College of the Arts in 1994 with a
Bachelors Degree in painting and sculpture. A Jill of all trades,
Lisa has shown her paintings in venues throughout the Northwest, she designed
greeting cards, plush Christmas decorations, and whimsical lamp shades. She
served in Ghana as a Peace Corps Volunteer and she has painted numerous
portraits on commission.
Lisa is currently occupied as a product merchandiser, a pedicab owner, and of course a Swanx artist. She lives in
Tacoma with her husband
Brian. To relax, Lisa likes to play board games, walk her dog
Annie, and blow bubbles for her kitty, Hugo.

Diana Comstock

Diana
Comstock is a self taught artist from Seattle, Washington. Her
lavishly colored acrylic mixed media paintings are inspired by Eastern and Asian
art, Aboriginal and African art, cave paintings, children's fairy tales and
graffiti art.
Her
work has been shown and collected in NY, LA, Tokyo, Miami, Phoenix, Seattle and
Ohio.
Besides
painting, Diana enjoys camping, gardening and spending time with her French
Bulldog, Henri.

Greg Hartman

Greg Hartman is well acquainted with the Pacific Northwest by graduating from the Art Institute of Seattle, taking coursework at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon and teaching at the Spokane Art School. He now lives in Edmonds, Washington.
Greg loves animals (dogs especially), traveling, gardening, and bicycle touring. He has created many different murals in several countries during his travels. He has bicycle toured fifteen countries and spent time living in Berlin, Germany and it is those experiences that have greatly influenced his personal work.
He has enjoyed a variety of work including editorial and packaging illustration, children’s books artwork, and many murals. You can see more of his work at http://painted.smugmug.com
Greg has been with The Swanx since December 2008. Some of his designs include Dragonfly Paradise, Vintage Nurse and Chinese Dragon.
Ann Vargas

Ann
Vargas was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. She came to the U.S.
in 1983 and currently lives with her family in Puyallup, Washington.
Except for occasional art classes, Ann is a self-taught artist, experienced in a variety of art forms.
From 1994-2003 she designed hand made greeting cards for Hand Crafted in San Mateo, California.
In 2004 she started In Color, a business specializing in customized murals and hand painted designs on furniture.
She is currently working on a line of fine art paintings that can be viewed on her website annvargasart.com
Ann has been painting clogs with The Swanx since December 2008. Some of her work includes Gerbera Daisy, Red Poppies and Frogs Life.
Jeanie Lewis
Jeanie
Lewis is a Seattle-based artist, travel photographer/writer and
soon-to-be tour operator. With over 10 years experience as a
professional henna artist and a natural curiosity about art, cuisine
and dance in other cultures, her style reflects inspiration from around
the world.
Her
paintings and photography have been collected in New York, San
Francisco, Chicago, London, Sydney, Vancouver, Toronto, Mumbai and, of
course, Seattle.
Her
designs for The Swanx include Kaleidoscope, Gold Leaf, Fire Flower,

Lee Lynden

Lee went to high school at the NW School of the Arts in Seattle. Next
attended the Art Institute of Seattle and went on to be the Art
Director for Habitat for Humanity in Americus, GA. Eighteen years ago she started her own business, Artistic Affects, painting murals. Lee has
painted murals from coast to coast and up into Canada. Having fun painted
and sculpted everything from jungles to Paris cityscapes. Now she enjoy
her time incorporating shoes and being the proud parent of a UW student
and a wonderful 1 1/2 year old. Life is good!
